Assoc. Prof. Dr. GEÇİBESLER graduated with honors from the Department of Chemistry at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Science and Letters, and completed a master's degree at Gaziosmanpaşa University, Institute of Science, Department of Organic Chemistry, with a thesis on the anticarcinogenic and insecticidal activities of Stachys byzantina plant extract and the isolation of its active components. While pursuing his master's, he began working as a Research Assistant at Bingöl University, Department of Chemistry, and in 2013, successfully earned his Ph.D. with a thesis on the phytochemical and biological activities of medicinal plants growing in Bingöl and its surroundings. The same year, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor and contributed to establishing the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bingöl University and the first Occupational Health and Safety undergraduate program in Turkish state universities. For over 10 years, he has held leadership roles, including Department Head and Division Head in Occupational Health and Safety, and played a key role in launching master's and doctoral programs in this field. Additionally, he has served as Director, Deputy Director, Vice Dean, and Department Head in various university units and participated as a principal investigator and researcher in projects supported by BAP, DPT, TAGEM, and TÜBİTAK. His research interests include occupational health and safety, hazardous chemicals, occupational health and safety management systems, occupational diseases, antiproliferative activity, phytochemistry, antioxidant activity, enzyme inhibition, insecticidal activity, natural product chemistry, chromatographic purification techniques, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, structural characterization of organic compounds, and advanced isolation techniques. Fluent in English, Assoc. Prof. Dr. GEÇİBESLER is married and a father of three children.
